First Ever Sportsman’s Challenge 2025

First Ever Sportsman’s Challenge 2025

 Saturday, 7-June-2025,  8:00am

We are happy to announce and invite you to join us for a first of its kind event!

This event will allow you the member to invite one guest. They of course will pay the event rate and must sign the liability release.

The “Sportsman’s Challenge” will test your skills at different outdoor events throughout the club grounds. Our intent is to sponsor a skills competition (like the Olympics, but no running required) …Just a few minutes at each event. We will be moving from skill to skill area in groups of 2 to 4 members.

Our trial run of this event has it taking 2.5 to 3 hours to complete. Fun and camaraderie is in the program as well as prizes and bragging rights too. We hope this will be an annual event and will have a plaque in the clubhouse showing the winner’s name…. There will be food at the end while results are being tabulated.

The events will be as follows:

Archery.. Pistol Shooting ..Fishing (catch & Release)…. Rifle Shooting .. Fishing Accuracy .. Skeet Shooting …. Knife or Axe Throwing …. Mystery Skill/Weapon

Who may participate?

This event is not designed to be a test of physical endurance or speed. It is designed to accommodate participants from 18 Years of Age to 100 Years old. This also allows for Men & Women to compete equally.

Competitive Notes and Scoring:

This is meant to be a test of skills used by those in pursuit of Fish and Game. The event will give advantage to some in certain disciplines and others who may excel at other disciplines. Don’t feel intimidated if you’re not good at a particular skill. We have developed a Scoring Methodolgy/Scale that hopefully evens the playing field, so to speak.

Prizes:

There will be an awarding of a trophy to the overall winner. We will additionally have a trophy for the high score at each of the skills

Food & Refreshments:

We will be providing beverages and lunch to all participants.

Event Fee: $30.00

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact medirectly and I’ll respond promptly. More details will follow in another email.

We look forward to running this event and hope to have agreat turnout!
