Please do not procrastinate on sending testimony! We beat a similar bill last year; we can do it again but only if you act!
Major Gun Bills Scheduled for This Monday March 6th at 9:00 A.M.
We have long expected Governor Lamont’s assault on our Second Amendment rights and the time has come! CCDL has taken a position on 3 Second Amendment related bills in the Judiciary Committee and we NEED YOUR HELP NOW!
Submit written testimony by Monday, March 6, 2023 (earlier is better) via the NEW online submission form.
Submitting written testimony takes only 90 seconds. You do not need to be an expert to advocate for your rights. A short, simple “I oppose” or “I support” is fine!
Step by Step guide on how to submit testimony.
- Click the online submission form link HERE
- Enter your first and last name
- Select the Hearing Date and Time drop down menu. Select 3/6/2023 9:00 am
- There are 3 bills we are concerned with. 2 of them should be opposed, one is actually good for gun owners (you’re welcome to read the bills yourself below). I would suggest you select the two that we oppose (HB 6667 and HB 6816) . Use the cntrl key to highlight multiple bills if on PC.
- Click the oppose button on the right
- You have two options to submit testimony. The easiest is to select “Type in My Testimony” which will open a text box below
- Type why you oppose these bills. You do not have to sound like a lawyer or be a great writer, simple is just as good. Share a personal reason why you oppose these bills.
- Select the “I am not a robot” button
- Click Submit
- Do it again for the bill we support
You also have the option to testify in person but you have to sign up by Sunday at 3pm. You can find instruction in CCDLs action alert
